The Davidson Family This family was a farming family.
Initially in Cruden, Aberdeens., and later in Weeford, Staffs. The eldest ancestor in this line is James Davidson and the story starts with him.

James Davidson (Bef 1811-1842) James Davidson, born sometime before 1811, married Isabella Sim in Cruden at the local Episcopal chapel of St. James the Less (see above) in 1829. His brother, John Davidson, was one of the witnesses to the marriage. The family were all farmers at this time.
He died in 1842 (see memorial inscription) then living at Mossend, Cruden.

John Davidson (1833-1926) John Davidson was born in Cruden in 1833 the son of James Davidson & Isabel. He married Isobel Dey in Ellon Free Church in 1865, then living at Midton, Cruden (see below). He was a farmer and died in Cruden in 1926 around the age of 93.

Isobel Day (Bef 1841-1926) She was born in Dufftown, Banff, Aberdeenshire, sometime prior to 1841, the daughter of Peter Dey and Margaret Walker. Her parents had been married at Mortlach, Banff in 1833.
By 1865 when Isobel was married and gave her residence as Mullock, Mortlach.

Peter Dey Davidson (1875-1958) Sandy’s grandfather born in Midtown, Cruden, in 1875. He was a farmer and went to farm in Canada for some years before returning to Scotland. He later moved to England where he married Queenie Newnes and they came to live in Weeford, Staffs. He was a churchwarden at Weeford.
